When is the Nomad Nest experience available?

It's available from October 1st, 2024 until April 14th, 2025. Perfect for those looking to escape colder climates and enjoy Algarve’s mild winter.

What's included?

The Nomad Nest experience includes private accommodation at Wyndham Residences Alvor Beach, use of the hotel facilities, co-working areas, and full access to the Portimão Digital Nomads community and their events.

Do you handle the bookings for the accommodation?

We do not directly rent out the apartments. Our role is to curate the experience and connect you with the accommodation partner. You'll book your stay directly through them, ensuring you receive the best service and can enjoy your stay with peace of mind.

How much does it cost?

You can choose between two options:

Nomad Nest Explorer (15 nights stay - € 550,00)

Nomad Nest Immersive (30 nights stay - € 1000,00).

Can I extend my stay?

Absolutely! If you’d like to extend your stay, just reach out to our accommodation partner, and check availability and conditions for your preferred dates.

What is the Nomad Nest experience?

Nomad Nest is designed to offer the perfect balance of work, community, and relaxation for digital nomads and remote workers looking to spend time in beautiful Algarve.

Is the accommodation pet-friendly?

Unfortunately, pets aren’t allowed at Wyndham Residences Alvor Beach. We know it’s a bummer, but we hope you’ll still enjoy your stay with us!

Can I bring my partner or a friend?

Yes! The studio apartments can comfortably accommodate up to 2 people, so feel free to bring your partner or a friend to share the space.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your reservation up to 14 days prior to your arrival without incurring any cancellation fees, by contacting directly our accommodation partner. After that, the full payment for your stay is required, and cancellations made within this 14-day window will be subject to the full charge.

What is the Portimao Digital Nomads community?

It’s a thriving network of remote workers and digital nomads based in the Portimao municipality, western Algarve. As a Nomad Nest guest, you’ll have access to bi-weekly meetups, seminars, and various subgroups that focus on different activities like hiking, surfing, co-working sessions, and more.

How do I join the meetups and events?

Once you book your Nomad Nest stay, you'll receive information about the upcoming events and how to sign up for different activities via the Portimão Digital Nomads platform. Joining the meetups and events is easy and often just a matter of showing up!

Do I have to join in the community activities?

No, Nomad Nest activities are usually free and always optional. Whether you prefer large casual gatherings, more intimate small groups, or interest-based activities, we will make sure you are as busy as you would like to be.

What kind of support can I expect during my stay?

The accommodation partner provides a range of support services, including housekeeping, laundry services, and 24-hours front desk to assist with any needs during your stay. Plus, you’ll always have access to the Portimao Digital Nomads community managers for any questions related to local life and activities.

NOMAD NEST EXPERIENCE

Do I need a visa to stay in Portugal for the duration of my booking?

Depending on your nationality, you may be able to stay in Portugal for up to 90 days without a visa. If you’re planning a longer stay, please check Portugal's visa requirements or consult a local consulate.

What is the weather like in Alvor?

Alvor boasts a pleasant Mediterranean climate, making it a great destination no matter the season. Summers are typically warm and sunny. Winters are mild, with daytime temperatures usually hovering between 12-18°C (54-64°F). You can expect plenty of sunshine and comfortable weather for outdoor activities, even in the cooler months!

What kind of co-working facilities are provided?

At Wyndham Residences, you can choose from various work-friendly spaces: a quiet co-working area with private pods and a shared table, a relaxed communal lounge and bar, or the comfort of your apartment. Additionally, enjoy the free PDN co-working space in Alvor village, with high-speed internet both indoors and in the outdoor patio.

What is the Internet speed?

At the Wyndham Hotel, internet speeds can reach up to around 230 Mbps for downloads and 200 Mbps for uploads, though this may vary depending on the specific area of the hotel. If you're looking for even faster speeds, the PDN co-working space in the village center offers up to 700 Mbps for downloads and 220 Mbps for uploads.

Do I need travel insurance for my stay?

While travel insurance is not mandatory, we highly recommend to ensure you're covered in case of any unexpected situations during your stay. We suggest using SafetyWing for comprehensive and affordable coverage. You can easily purchase your insurance here.

What activities will be available during my stay?

We offer a mix of free and paid activities to enhance your experience. Free activities include community meetups, most of the seminars, and spontaneous events organized by the 50+ subgroups. Enjoy extra experiences like the cultural walk of Alvor, surf lessons, wine tastings, and yoga sessions, available at an additional cost.

Is this a coliving?

Nomad Nest embraces many of the pros of coliving (like dedicated community managers, easy friendly connections and an events schedule) while avoiding many of the cons of coliving (like messes in shared areas, lack of privacy and splitting costs). Nomad Nest is a "workation" at its best!

Do I have to be a digital nomad or remote worker to try Nomad Nest?
